The City of Victor Planning Department currently takes a complaint-driven approach to code violations. Once a complaint is received, the planning department will determine if the situation is a nonconformity or a violation. Nonconformaties are uses or structures that were lawfully established prior to the adoption of our current code. Violations are uses or structures that were not allowed by the Land Development Code at the the time that they were established. Action can be taken to bring a violation up to current code following an
official complaint or
citizen request.
This approach excludes violations that threaten human health or safety, which will be addressed as soon as staff is aware of such violations.
