Now Hiring - Public Works Operator Level I
The City of Victor has an exciting full-time opening in our Public Works Department as a Public Works Operator (Level I). The ideal candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work, is not afraid of taking on new challenges, enjoys the outdoors, and is familiar with and/or willing to learn about sewer and water systems. This full-time position pays up to $23.73 /hour, depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to maintenance and upkeep of City streets, water, sewer, irrigation, equipment, facilities, parks, and pathways and require emergency on-call services from time to time. The City offers a generous benefits package that includes medical (for the employee and family), optional vision, dental, and supplemental accident insurance, a generous paid time off program, City-paid holidays, and membership in the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI). The City's Public Works Department works a modified schedule. From April to October, Public Works operates Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with every Friday off. From November to March, the schedule is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday.
This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on bonus. New employees will get $750 after six months on the job and another $750 on their one-year work anniversary. In addition to the sign-on bonus, this position is eligible for a fuel stipend. Employees who live more than 50 miles (one-way) from the City will be reimbursed $0.25 for every mile they commute to work.
